Section 10 Consultation

Section 10 Consultation

The Laurus Trust is pleased to announce the launch of our Section 10 consultation for our proposed new school, Didsbury High School.  As part of the process of opening a Free School, the Department for Education requires a consultation* under Section 10 of the Academies Act 2010.  This enables local residents, headteachers, staff and governors from local schools, parents, elected members, community groups and any other interested parties to share their views.

The consultation period for Didsbury High School will run from Monday 6th November to Friday 22nd December 2017.  This is an important step in our journey to opening in September 2019.  We would like to hear from all the community in the coming weeks to help inform the Secretary of State for Education’s decision on whether to enter into a Funding Agreement with the Laurus Trust.  We want to listen to your comments and act on any feedback to ensure our School is the best it can be and meets the needs of the community we serve.

You can give us feedback in a number of ways:

Public Drop-in Events

Thursday 23rd November, 5.30-7.30pm at the Siemens building, Princess Road, Manchester M20 2UR

Thursday 30th November, 10am-12pm at The Albert Bowling & Tennis Club, 39-41 Old Lansdowne Road, West Didsbury M20 2PA

Thank you for participating in this consultation. We welcome your views in order to provide the best school possible.

*Please note this consultation is not related to any building or planning applications surrounding the new school; it is solely to consult on whether appropriate persons support the Laurus Trust to enter into a Funding Agreement with the Secretary of State for Education to run Didsbury High School.  A consultation process on the school site and building layout will run concurrently.  Interested parties will be able to view the initial proposals and site layout at the drop in event at the Siemens building on Thursday 23rd November.
