GCSE Results 2025
The 2025 GCSE results saw:
- 80% of DHS students achieving grades 9-4 in English and Maths, compared to 66.5% National Average.
- 61% of DHS students achieving the gold standard of grades 9-5 in English and Maths, compared to 45.2% National Average.
- 87% of students were entered into the English Baccalaureate (EBacc). This is a set of GCSEs that are considered powerful for entry into a range of futures. The DHS average grade for those getting the English Baccalaureate was 5.59. Entry into the EBacc National Average is 40.5%, with an average grade of 4.08.
- 38% of grades achieved by DHS students were 7+. A grade 7 is equivalent to a solid grade A in the previous letter-based grading system. This compares to a 21.9% National Average.
- An average Attainment 8 score by DHS students of 56.92. This means that, on average, our students achieved a grade 5.6 in each of their GCSEs, the national average is 4.5.

The 2024 GCSE results saw:
- 80% achieving grades 9-4 in English and Maths
- 60% achieving the gold standard of grades 9-5 English and Maths
- 89% of students were entered into the English Baccalaureate (EBacc)
This is a set of GCSEs that are considered powerful for entry into a range of futures. The average grade for those getting the English Baccalaureate was 5.59.
- A Progress 8 score of +0.67
This means that, on average, our students achieved over two thirds of a grade higher in each of their GCSEs than their peers nationally. This places the school at the top of the co-educational table in Manchester. This also places the school in the top 7% of schools nationally.
- An Attainment 8 score of 57.3
This means that, on average, our students achieved a grade 5.7 in each of their GCSEs.
